April 2025 – February 2026
Sensory Story Hour is a movement-rich, interactive experience designed for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Through stories, song, poetry, rhymes, sensory exploration, and farm-themed activities, children will build early literacy skills while engaging with the sights, sounds, and textures of the farm. A local Vermont snack will be provided.
One adult is admitted free per paid child. Adult attendance is required. Your registration fee does not cover admission to Billings Farm & Museum, but you’re welcome to purchase admission if you would like to visit the site after the program.
Younger siblings are welcome to join their parent or guardian during the program, but will not be allowed to participate in the activities which are designed for children ages 3-5.
Contact us at msurprenant@billingsfarm.org for registration questions.
Sensory Story Time Selections & Dates
Winter on the Farm
Wednesday, January 14th, 9:30AM -10:30AM
Young learners will explore how we care for animals, gardens, and the farm during colder months. Through interactive play, they’ll dress up stuffed animals in hand-knitted winter clothing. Storytime will highlight the coziness of the season, and everyone will enjoy a snack of locally baked bread with homemade butter and local jam.
Wheels on the Farm
Wednesday, February 11th, 9:30AM – 10:30AM
There are many wheels that keep the farm moving! Young learners will discover the shapes and colors of tractor and truck wheels through sensory play. They’ll navigate a wheelbarrow obstacle course, delivering farm supplies along the way. Come roll, play, and learn with us on the farm!
